CollaborART – Modernism in Visual Culture Series 2012
presented by Louise Morrison, Central Institute of Technology
Rauschenberg once said that he wanted to “work in the gap between art and life”. Both he and Jasper Johns worked with everyday objects, materials or symbols to create works that reflected modern life in America.
This series presents key developments in Modernism, with a focus on major images and objects in the MoMA collection. Aspects of continuity with tradition will be illustrated and discussed, along with the works that radically challenged and shifted understandings of Western art.
You can also purchase a Modernism in Visual Culture Series Pass which includes entry to each lecture and unlimited entry to the Picasso to Warhol exhibition for $115 – save $59. Click here to purchase a Visual Culture Series Pass.
